VELUX loft conversion is generally the most cost effective and in most cases no planning permission is needed as velux windows are installed flush into the existing roof.
DORMER loft conversion protrude from the roof and are usually added to the back of the house. They are good for increasing limited headroom, planning permission is not usually required, but our fully qualified surveryor will be able to advise you on our initial meeting so you can leave that to Town and Country Lofts and Extensions.
MANSARD loft conversion is another form of dormer but with a 70 degree angle to the face of the dormer. Some customers prefer this look and some local authorities insist in having these in their area so once again, as above our surveyor will advise you.
HIP TO GABLE loft conversion,the sloped side of your existing roof is built vertically to enable you to increase the maximum space available to the existing footprint of your house. This area would normally accommodate the new staircase making the new landing area flow naturally into the existing house. No planning permission is required.
